Mouse had taken on the promotion of The Super Dede Competition ebook, despite she has no clue about marketing. She did it basically because no-one else held their hand up (as usual), but somehow the book needs to be advertised. She was adamant it had to be an Instagram promotion, as the Dedes seem to be going well there. So she spent a day researching and then jumped onto the computer to create a regram ad with popular Chambermaid as the poster girl. Devil, who used to be the spokes person, poo-pooed her attempt and said no-one would regram an ad for a book of the value of US$3.99. Most of the Dede followers on Instagram have a particular aesthetic on their site and such a regram ad would stick out like a sore thumb. Mouse was still thinking about an appropriate response, when Harvey, the rabbit came along and said the book should be free anyway. This was too much for Mouse and she had one of her break-downs, that unfortunately happen all too often as she works far too hard. Devil could see: Yes, Harvey had a point, but so had Mouse. The book should be free to our followers, but we cannot do everything for free forever. At this point he volunteered to take over the ebook promotion. After all he used to be the MC for the “Super Dede Competition” and if the book sells it is in his best interest. His solution was to make the ebook free until Saturday, the 28th of May 2016.
So, head over to Smashwords.com and get your free copy. Enter the code VV39S before you check out.
Of course if you want to support the Dedes feel free to buy the book. If you like the Dedes, tell everyone about it. And if you don’t like it, keep your mouth shut. :)
“Really!” said Mouse, “isn’t that obvious? Do we have to say that? Oh, …I hate marketing!”
Thank you for making it free. Started reading this morning, and then just finished it now. What a story! Was this whole competition going on through instagram or something? If I had known, I would have participated.
It was so funny because, the words were such a breeze to read and float through. Then, I paused and lost it in laughter. ‘Her words merged seamlessly into a spasmodic sobbing.’ What on earth is going on, as I was on the edge of my seat reading about these puppets and their lives so intensely. You captured me, that’s for sure.
‘Dede puppets usually don’t change colour, but believe me, she did.’
Lost it at, L’Artiste for ‘copyrighting his appearance’, what hilarity. And how cash cows ‘eyes didn’t match her answers’- brilliant!
My favourite part was about the friendship. ONE: Friendship, TWO: Friendship and THREE: Friendship. No question about it! True friendship is a virtue. And to have true friends, you have to be one I believe :)
This must have taken you a really long time. I can apprecate how much time you’ve spent on it all. Thank you so much for making me laugh, I’ve needed it the last few days. Also, keeping my reading eyes, in sync with brain and focus, is really hard. Your writing had me sucked in -break inbetween- and spat out. You are a fantastic writer and artist. Well done.
It said something about leaving a review, I could copy paste and slightly edit this is you show me the link?
Warm wishes to you, Dietlind and all the Dedes!! <— two exclamation marks
Jessie and Manu
Thank you Jessie for your wonderful message. Now I have the colour of Mouse :). I am so happy that you enjoyed the story. And yes, the storyline devolped publicly on this blog here. Comments that were made throughout the competition were incorporated. For example the eyes of the cow. I didn’t dare then to tell the commenter, that Cash Cow actually has my eyes, but I had a good laugh about it. When I re-read the story around Christmas, I thought it is really sad that this funny event sank into oblivion. Hence the book. However while I engaged with the book I thought we might do a similar event, this time on Instagram or across both platforms (blog and Instagram). I think I overheard Devil and Mouse talking about it :).
So watch out what they are doing next :)
Ah yes, it would be absolutely fatnastic if you could post a review on Smashwords or any other place wehere you can buy the ebook. I tried to look up how you do it on Smashwords, but it only tells me that I am the author, so I can’t enter a review.
Thanks again for writing such a positive feedback. The Dedes and I really appreciate it..
No worries, will look into it, and post there.
All the best :)
