Well, I was wrong again. Last time I said the original Dedes and the Lil’Dedes didn’t want to know each other and they keep to their respective groups. Tomorrow the Lil’Dedes are leaving for Waiheke Island to be exhibited. When I started packing up you should have seen the monkeys. They didn’t want to let go of each other. Obviously they had forged a deep friendship in the few days they were together. They asked me for 10 minutes of privacy so they could say good bye to each other.
I feel really nasty now, that I break them up.
They certainly look a bit sad. I asked ‘ Punch too’ if he had a message to pass on and all he said was ” Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodnight till it be morrow”, but as it seems the Dedes struggle with the concept of time that probably wont be very helpful. Bon Voyage lil Dedes have fun in Waiheke. Kia Kaha.
I will pass it on to the lil’Dedes next time I see them. I know they are in very good hands on Waiheke.
No sooner had I posted the last message than ‘Punch too’ threw a crumpled piece of paper at me. It seems he had been working on a Dada poem with influences of the Scottish poet Robbie Burns blended with his love of Shakespeare. He said he was dedicating it to all the Dedes but that the Lil ones might take some strength from it.
Poor wee Yorick
Why so critical friend
Time is swift
It races by
There is nothing either good or bad
But thinking makes it so
The Bigness found in Being Small
This above all…….
you can be a guiding star
Concience does make cowards of us all.
That is such a lovely poem. I will have my recital session soon and record the poems.
I really hope the Lil ones will find new homes and will stay in touch via the blog, just like Punch too does. I get the feeling he is very, veeery happy where he is. No way he would like to come back to our household, where he wouldn’t be primus inter pares as he is at your place :).
Have fun at your latest exhibition!
How is your one going. It is still running, isn’t it?
